Sophie McDonald

Sophie is from Bacchus Marsh in Melbourne and started dancing at the age of three at the Bacchus Marsh Dance Studio. From Year 7 to Year 10 she attended The Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School. Then, in 2017 she commenced training at The Australian Ballet School in Level 5.

While being at the school she worked with David McAllister to create ‘Swan Lake Variations’ a piece to be performed on regional tour, she also enjoyed the process of working with Lucas Jervies in making the new school production of ‘Butterfly’. In her spare time she loves hanging out with her friends and baking and cooking.

Sophie joined West Australian Ballet as a Young Artist in 2022 and was promoted to Corps de Ballet in 2023.
