SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS
West Australian Ballet’s popular School Holiday Workshops are back these October school holidays! Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 and Friday 7 October at the West Australian Ballet Centre, 134 Whatley Crescent, Maylands.
School Holiday Workshops are a fantastic activity for young dancers to keep dancing over the holidays, to make new friends, and watch the professional dancers at work right in the heart of WAB HQ. You might even meet a real ballerina!
Each session consists of a ballet workshop with one of our specialist teaching artists and time spent in the studio watching our company dancers at work.
Parents may watch or help themselves to tea and coffee in our heritage foyer. Please note, this is not a “drop off & leave” activity. Parents or guardians must stay on premises whilst their child is in the building.

GUEST OPEN CLASSES
West Australian Ballet presents a series of Guest Open Classes featuring teachers of international acclaim currently visiting the company. This is a great opportunity for students to watch WAB rehearsals and take class with some of the world’s leading teachers. Classes are open to students aged 15 years and over and are studying at a minimum RAD Intermediate/Advanced Foundation level (or equivalent).
Cost: $25 per student.
Keep an eye on our website for more information on our next Guest Open Class. Want the information in your inbox as soon as it’s released? Join Great Leaps.
Taught by WAB’s artistic staff, dancers and international guest teachers, the Masterclass Program is the perfect complement to the ongoing studio classes your students attend. The Masterclass Program consists of 8 evening classes in 2016 accompanied by an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how WAB and our dancers work, including viewing rehearsals and Q&A sessions with special guests.
In December 2015, WAB was honoured to see two Masterclass students offered full-time positions at The Australian Ballet School in Melbourne. 2016 is a very special year for us as we welcome three ex-masterclass students to the company ranks as Young Artists (see our company list here).
Entry into the Masterclass Program is by audition only. Registrations to audition for the 2016 program are now closed. Dates for the 2017 Masterclass Program (including audition registrations opening and closing, audition date and dates for classes) will be advertised at the end of 2016.
Masterclasses will be held from 5.00pm – 7.30pm on the following Mondays of 2016:
22 February 2016: Masterclass #1
