Jacob Chown

Jacob was a state champion trampolinist at the age of six. He trained gymnastics at the West Australian Institute of sport from age 6-9 then moved on to ballet. He graduated from The Australian Ballet school with an Advanced Diploma in Dance and in 2006 at the age of 18, joined Royal New Zealand Ballet.

 

Some of Jacob’s classic featured roles include Basilio in Don Quixote, James in La Sylphide, Zoltan in Coppelia and Hilarion in Giselle. At his time with RNZB Jacob has worked with many international choreographers and has performed around the world. Jacob was a featured dancer on TB3 program The Secret Lives of Dancer. He also played the role as Hilarion in the movie Giselle directed by Toa Fraser and choreographed by Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg.
