On behalf of the Board of West Australian Ballet, we are proud to invite applications for the position of Executive Director of the company. We seek applications from individuals who could be available to take up this appointment from April/May 2016.
West Australian Ballet was established in Perth, Australia in 1952. Since then the company has achieved an impressive reputation for its innovative programming and world class performances. The company has benefited over the years from inspired artistic leadership, with commercial success largely due to astute leadership and management of an outstanding Executive Director, managers and administrators.
The principal purpose of the position is to ensure that appropriate business, marketing, organisational, people and financial strategies are in place and performing, to enable the company to continue to grow and produce world class ballet productions.
The Board’s preference is for an Executive Director who will bring similar senior leadership experience in the Arts industry. The Executive Director must be someone who can work effectively with the Artistic Director and artistic team as well as to confidently lead finance, marketing, communications and sponsorship, philanthropy and technical support.
Naturally we expect the Executive Director to possess all of the competencies normally required in a CEO role, notably strategic thinking, leadership, financial resource management and strong interpersonal skills. Key to success in this position will be your ability to foster and develop relationships with the corporate and government sectors.
