YOUNG ARTIST

Samantha was born in Scotland and moved to Perth, Western Australia when she was three. She began ballet aged 10 at Samantha Jane School of Ballet before being accepted into the Gifted and Talented Ballet Program at John Curtin College of the Arts. She then decided to begin full-time ballet training at Charlesworth Ballet Institute (now known as Youth Ballet WA), where she received her Certificate III and IV in dance alongside graduating Year 12.

Samantha successfully auditioned for the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts and began training there in 2021. Through this course, she received her Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor of Arts (Dance), and Honours in Dance. In 2021, Samantha was awarded the Dance Theatre of WA Award and a commendation in the Linley Wilson Scholarship at the Royal Academy of Dance Festival. She was also awarded the 2023 Finley Award for Dance. In her final year at WAAPA, she was offered a secondment with West Australian Ballet for La Bayadère, Romeo & Juliet and The Sleeping Beauty before joining West Australian Ballet's Young Artist Program for 2025.
