Declan Daines

Born in Perth, WA, Declan initially started training in fight
choreography and gymnastics as well as a variety of different dance
styles. He turned his focus to classical ballet, training with Helene
Gowers Ballet School and John Curtin College of the Arts. A childhood
highlight was performing with West Australian Ballet in Marc Ribaud's La Fille mal Gardee at age nine.
At 15, he moved to Melbourne to The Australian Ballet School, graduating in 2024 with a Graduate Diploma of Classical Ballet. During this time, he worked with renowned choreographers such as Graeme Murphy AO and Loughlan Prior, as well as representing the school at Canada's National Ballet School as part of their exchange program.
Declan joined Queensland Ballet as a Jette Parker Young Artist in 2025, performing in Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet and Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker. He also worked with Greg Horsman and performed Peter in Greg’s version of Peter and the Wolf.
He has a passion for choreography, loving the exploration of dance styles and the process explored in creating new works. Declan also loves listening to music, watching movies, musicals, and hanging out with friends.
