The Nutcracker – Child Guest Artist Auditions

 

West Australian Ballet has an exciting opportunity for young male and female dancers to be involved in the upcoming season of The Nutcracker at His Majesty’s Theatre (16 November – 9 December 2018). The Nutcracker is West Australian Ballet’s lavish production of the all-time Christmas favourite choreographed by Jayne Smeulders, Aurélien Scannella and Sandy Delasalle-Scannella. Experience rehearsing and performing with Australia’s oldest ballet company.

 

Successful candidates will be contracted as a paid Child Guest Artist and must be available for all rehearsals and performances as indicated on the schedule below.

 

Requirements:

  • Boys and Girls may apply
  • Must be aged between 8 – 13 years
  • Must be between 120cm – 145cm in height
  • Must have dance experience and be able to pick up choreography quickly

Audition Details:

  • 11.00pm – 4.00pm, Saturday 6 October
  • Exact audition time will be sent via email on Monday 1 October 2018
  • Female candidates please wear tights, a leotard, ballet flats and hair tied back in a bun
  • Male candidates please wear a leotard or singlet, tights and ballet flats
  • Please refrain from wearing clothing that indicates what dance school you attend
  • Each audition will take approximately 45 minutes

Open Audition – Company Members

Artistic Director, Aurélien Scannella, is hosting an open audition for West Australian Ballet.

 

Suitably trained, experienced candidates are invited to apply for West Australian Ballet’s open auditions. Please email audition@waballet.com.au with your application, which must includeOPEN AUDITION APPLICATION – <Your Name>” as the Subject Line.

 

Your application should please including the following:

 

  • Resume
  • Photographs (JPEG preferred)
  • Link to online footage of a Classical variation (Youtube or Vimeo)

 

Applications will close on Friday 5 October 2018. Incomplete applications or those received after the closing date, will not be considered.

 

Suitably qualified candidates will be contacted by WAB to confirm an audition time-slot and other important details.

Principal Dancers

 

Artistic Director, Aurélien Scannella, is inviting exceptional artists to submit their interest in being considered for a Principal position at West Australian Ballet from 2019.

 

Suitably trained, highly-experienced candidates, preferably with a broad experience in principal or soloist roles at acclaimed ballet companies are asked to apply to audition@waballet.com.au which must includePRINCIPAL AUDITION APPLICATION – <Your Name>” as the Subject Line.
