Emily Seymour started her training at Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and All Starz Performing Arts Studio, both located in Sydney, Australia. She competed in the Youth America Grand Prix in 2012 placing as a finialist and in 2013, where at the age of 16 she was selected to join the Houston Ballet II. She was a member of Houston Ballet II for 2 years and for her third year in Houston she was an Apprentice with Houston Ballet Company. While in Houston, Emily performed in ballets such as Stanton Welch’s Time to Dance, Fingerprints, Raymonda, Giselle, La Bayadere, Brigade, Swan Lake, Blue, A Dance in the Garden of Mirth and Romeo & Juliet; Alexander Ekman’s Cacti; John Neumeier’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty; George Balanchine’s Serenade, Allegro Brilliante; Harold Lander’s Etudes, David Lichine’s Graduation Ball; David Bentley’s Aladdin; Ilya Kozadayev’s Molto Expressivo; and Jerome Robbins’ West Side Story Suite.
With Emily’s new position as a Young Artist of the West Australian Ballet, she is ready and excited to take on the challenges that 2017 will bring her way.
