Alexandra Stewart

Born in Melbourne Australia, Alexandra began training at The Christine Walsh Dance Centre and received coaching with former principal dancer of the Moscow Ballet, Nina Osipyan. Alexandra then attended The Australian Ballet School for 4 years and whilst there, received a scholarship to train with The School of American Ballet & The National Ballet School in Canada.


In 2010 Alexandra received The Marten Bequest travelling scholarship which is a prestigious award throughout Australia. This gave her an opportunity to travel to Europe to pursue a professional career where she worked with The Bayerisches Staatsballett in Munich, Germany.


Alexandra returned home in 2014 and is now a part of West Australian Ballet. With West Australian Ballet Alexandra has performed Lead Willi in Giselle, Snow White in Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs and the 1st violin lady in Balanchine’s Concerto Barrocco.


Alexandra has worked with choreographers such as Jíri Kylian, Nacho Duato, John Neumier and has performed in pieces choreographed by Hans Van Manen, John Neumier, Merce Cunningham, John Cranko, Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Nacho Duato, Jíri Kylian, Ivan Liska, Frederick Ashton, Marius Petipa, Kenneth MacMillan, José Limón, Léonide Massine and Russell Maliphant.
