MOVE CLOSER… TO WEST AUSTRALIAN BALLET
West Australian Ballet invites you to move closer by making a donation to support our dancers and productions.
By making a gift to West Australian Ballet you will become part of our ballet family; you will receive opportunities to go ‘behind the scenes’ through our newsletter Ballet News and invitations to rehearsals, ballet world insights, and other special events.
Participation in our giving circles – including our Friends Circle – enables you to experience West Australian Ballet in a unique and very personal way. You can chose how you would like to support the company; from fresh pointe shoes for our dancers, to sets and costumes for exciting new productions, or international choreographers that our Artistic Director is able to invite with your support.

Pointe Shoe Fund
Each year West Australian Ballet dancers will jete, pirouette and arabesque through hundreds of pairs of pointe shoes. We invite you to buy a gift for your favourite dancer by donating $75 for a pair of new pointe shoes (or $150 for two pairs). Thank you from our hearts to the tips of our toes!
Dancer Health and Wellbeing
Our most precious asset is our dancers, and by providing an array of services to keep them injury-free, we also help them to extend their careers. Preparation for each ballet season includes a rigorous schedule of pilates, body conditioning and special support (such as physiotherapy, massage and acupuncture). Help us to keep our dancers fit, healthy and always on their toes.
We invite you to be part of a unique circle of philanthropists known as the Campione who together, will raise essential funds to create breathtaking costumes and majestic scenery that will breathe new life into this cherished fairy-tale.
By joining this group of foundation investors, your name will forever be associated with West Australian Ballet’s signature The Nutcracker ballet. Your generosity will be acknowledged through our Campione events and WAB philanthropy programmes.
This is our core purpose, and the work that our patrons know and understand. Telling a story through music and dance, taking our audience on a journey which will make you laugh, cry, or gasp in amazement. We are committed to keeping our ticket prices affordable, but this means that a significant funding gap exists. This gap is filled by donors like you who believe in the artistic contribution our performances make to our community.
Young Artist Programme
The future of ballet rests with our young dancers, and West Australian Ballet nurtures and develops gifted dancers with training programmes that can kickstart their career. With performance opportunities and real-life experience in a world-class company, we provide a foundation for their future in the ballet industry.
Buy a Brick Campaign
West Australian Ballet is now settled into our fabulous new home, West Australian Ballet Centre in Maylands – however it isn’t too late to become a special part of this project and have your name ‘up in lights’.
With a gift of just $500, your name will be featured on a special wall featured in the building, and your contribution will personally give you pride of place in this historic development for the West Australian Ballet.
Funds raised from the sale of ‘bricks’ will ensure that this stunning art deco building is a vibrant, artistic home for talented dancers and our wider communities.
Community Outreach and Education
Each year we bring ballet to WA in countless ways, from regional touring to guest appearances at community events. We invite all West Australians to experience ballet through open days, open rehearsals, and performances for disadvantaged members of our community. By bringing education programmes into diverse soci-economic and regional areas, we help to bring inspiration and new possibilities to all West Australians.
Artistic Director’s Discretion
Every performance season requires our dancers to learn new steps, to undergo different types of training, and to adapt to the requirements of the upcoming production. Our Artistic Director Aurelien Scannella achieves his artistic vision with the resources available within the company, plus additional injections of inspiration through guest teachers, visiting choreographers, and occasional guest artists. Your support of his vision enables him to super-charge our dancers.
