On the Nature of Daylight

Australian Premiere

It is something we all seek in life: true love. Yet, how are we to find our ideal partner? By chance or by choice? And what happens if we simply fail to meet up with the right person? Set to the music of Max Richter, On the Nature of Daylight is about the perfectly ordinary yet extraordinary mystery of love.

5

Australian Premiere

Choreographed for five dancers, 5 ignites a challenging dialogue between the traditionalism of music from Adolphe Adam’s Giselle, and highly virtuoso dance fireworks – a dazzling combination of speed, stretch and structure. A dance of physical freedom coupled with emotional lyricism.

Ambiguous Content

World Premiere

Talented young Australian choreographer Craig Davidson creates a new piece for Ballet at the Quarry.

In Black

Dancing is no longer about pretty tutus and pointe shoes, nor bare feet, contemporary dance. In Black is about challenge, trust, music, dynamic athleticism and hard work; a reflection of a dancer’s training.

To the Pointe

Five friends making a point. “To the Pointe kept the audience on the edge of their seats and left them hungry for more” –Dancetrain.

Approximate running time 1 hour 30 minutes including interval.
