History of The Kira Bousloff Bequest Circle
West Australian Ballet was established in 1952 by Madame Kira Bousloff who came to Australian as a ballerina with the Ballets Russes. Mme Bousloff visited Perth whilst on holiday and fell in love with the city which reminded her of the French Riviera. West Australian Ballet became the State ballet company in 1970.
The Kira Bousloff Circle is named in honour of West Australian Ballet’s founder and for those visionary individuals who provide for its future.
