Cinderella Community Matinee

News

At West Australian Ballet we are committed to improving the lives of everyone in the WA community by sharing our love of ballet.

On Wednesday 25 November, West Australian Ballet is holding a special Lotterywest Community Matinee performance of Cinderella in honour of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Clients and employees from various organisations that assist women in need will be in attendance, including Anglicare WA, Women’s Council, Relationships Australia, Esther Foundation and Ruah Community Services.

Sponsored by Lotterywest, West Australian Ballet’s Community Matinee Series is aimed at creating access to the arts for people who are not normally able to participate. Each matinee is held for a specific target area in the community and with the help of various support agencies we’re able to invite approximately 800 people to watch a matinee performance free of charge.

Since 2010 WAB has coordinated Lotterywest Community Matinees for people with vision impairments, people with hearing impairments, youth support agencies, people living with cancer, volunteers, disadvantaged youth, recent immigrants and refugees and people dealing with mental illness.
